Flooring installation on Staten Island

Hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank and tile, installed over a subfloor we've flattened first.

Flooring Installation

Scope of work

A floor is only as flat as what's under it. Squeaks, hollow spots, cracked tile and gapping planks almost always trace back to subfloor prep. We pull the old flooring, screw down loose subfloor, grind high spots and fill low ones, then install the new floor with the right underlayment and expansion gaps.

We install solid and engineered hardwood, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), porcelain and ceramic tile, and new baseboards and transitions. When flooring is part of a bigger renovation, we time it to go in after the messy trades are done.

Local conditions

Floors in NYC homes and apartments

Sound rules in buildings. Many condo and co-op buildings require acoustic underlayment under hard flooring (and some still require a percentage of rugs). We'll get the building's spec and install to it.

Old houses aren't flat. Pre-war Staten Island and Brooklyn homes often have sloping floors. Rigid-core LVP and engineered wood tolerate some unevenness, but large tile doesn't. We'll tell you what your subfloor needs before you fall in love with a material.

FAQ

Flooring questions

Is luxury vinyl plank good for Staten Island homes?

Rigid-core LVP is waterproof, durable and comfortable, which makes it a strong choice for kitchens, basements and rentals. Hardwood still adds more resale value in living areas and can be refinished.

Can you install flooring in my apartment building?

Yes. We handle COIs, elevator bookings and the building's acoustic underlayment requirements.
